Jail should not be a death sentence"

About the alliance

A person in a pink shirt speaking into a microphone at an event. Behind them is a banner with messages such as "Free Them All" and "Justice for the families of those who have died." The backdrop also includes phrases like "Black futures look like" and references to no new jail. The setting appears to be a community center or similar venue.

The Atlanta Alliance is a branch of the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression. NAARPR is a mass defense organization that defends the rights of Black people and all oppressed peoples to unite, organize and fight for freedom, justice and equality.

We were founded in 1973 and our parent organization was National United Committees to Free Angela Davis and All Political Prisoners. Today we see the police occupation of communities and mass incarceration as the two greatest obstacles to our fight for democracy and liberation.
